Job Description
We are looking for a
Technology Manager / Specialist, Pyrometallurgy
to work together with Mining and Metals technology team / Technology and Smart Solutions unit and to be responsible for pyrometallurgical projects within AFRY Process Industries Division.
Work tasks include:
- Technology expert role in planning and/or execution phases of Clients’ investment projects
- Modelling of metallurgical processes
- Pyrometallurgical process design
- Project sales
- Project management
- Project development of new solutions and ways of working
- Projects from concept development to implementation phase including commissioning and start-up
Technology Manager’s / Specialist’s work is versatile. Depending on your experience and skills profile, your tasks include sales, proposal development, project management, process engineering tasks as well as development in ways of working and client offering.

Your main location will be Vantaa or Oulu but also working at AFRY’s other offices is possible.
Qualifications
In order to succeed in this role, you have
- M.Sc. degree or higher in relevant field
- Several years of hands-on experience of technology development, conceptual & basic engineering, project execution and/or plant operation.
- In the position of a Technology Manager, ability to act as in project manager or in leading expert role in projects.
- In the position of a Technology Specialist, your deep knowledge of the field is utilized to provide practical solutions for clients.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to develop new solutions and approaches in a client-oriented manner
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken
You stand out if you have experience in modeling or simulation of metallurgical processes or plant operations. You are active team player continuously showing initiative. You have solution-oriented mindset and excellent problem-solving skills.
We appreciate experience in sales and the ability to travel domestic and abroad.
